Panel “Visual Scepticism and an Aesthetic of Doubt” accepted to the 9th Annual MSA conference in Prague

We are delighted to announce that our panel “Visual Scepticism and an Aesthetic of Doubt in Reframing Difficult Heritage – Fostering Resilience or Enforcing Instability?” has been accepted to the 9th Annual Meeting of the Memory Studies Association, "Beyond Crises: Resilience and (In)stability", in Prague, Czech Republic (14−18 July, 2025). Margit Kern will chair the panel. Contributing to the panel will be Carla Guimarães Hermann (“Denilson Baniwa’s Brasil Terra Indígena (2020): Reimagining Brazil with light on stones”), Winona Pawelzik (“Utopian Histories and the Ethnological Museum: Photography as a Tool of Destabilization of Colonial Narratives”), Fabian Röderer (“Site and Scale as Sceptical Strategies. Remembering the ‘Windrush Generation’”) and Johanna Spanke (“Tilted Figures: Destabilizing Colonial Legacies through Monumental Interventions”).
