Vita
Studied art history and theological studies at the Universität Hamburg and the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (2013-2021). Master’s degree in January 2021 with the paper “‘Inveniam viam aut faciam’ – Hermann von Wissmann’s monument in Bad Lauterberg: German Colonial Propaganda in 1908 and the Conceptualization of Space” (recipient of the Karl H. Ditze Prize for 2022 and the Prize for the Best Thesis Paper of 2020 from the Association of Friends of the Department of Art History at the Universität Hamburg). 2021‒2022: research scholarship fellowship from the Isa Lohmann-Siems Stiftung in Hamburg for the annual project “Widerspruch!? Medien, Praktiken und Räume des Widersprechens”, with the subproject “Satire als Widerspruch: Das Kolonialdenkmal in den Karikaturen des deutschen Kaiserreichs”. Since August 2022: doctoral candidate with Prof. Dr. Margit Kern with the project “Visual Scepticism: Towards an Aesthetics of Doubt” (ERC Advanced Grant Horizon 2020) on the topic “German Colonial Monuments and the Conceptualization of Space”.
